Ralph Gahagan Memorial Project
Ralph Gahagan helped to acquire land in Liberia for an educational institution and has helped with many shipments of supplies to benefit the children of Liberia. He was a coach and educator his whole life and was well respected by his peers and students. The Ralph Gahagan Memorial Project is being designed honor his legacy and advance his dedication to making an impact in the lives of the youth.
We are currently putting together a team to go to Liberia work with our partner schools in Bomi County and Monrovia, Liberia.
Through the program in Bomi County, we are looking to broaden the scope and number of students we are able to serve there and empower the citizens to own and run their own education system in accordance with the Ministry of Education in Liberia. This will be aimed to serve the children who cannot afford to attend public schools.
Through the program in Monrovia, we are building a library at Greater Love Academy and helping to repair a well and improve eating facilities at My Brother’s Keeper Academy and Orphanage. Through both organisations, our aim is to establish a full library with educational resources and training for the teachers.
We are additionally working to create jobs that can adequately support teachers and create training opportunities for them to advance their own knowledge and skills.
You can help by supporting our team which is forming to be on the ground in Liberia in August/ September 2021 to further implement our program deliverables and oversee progress of our efforts there. This fall, our goal is to ship over a container of the supplies that so many of you have been contributing to these efforts, including school supplies, building materials and medical supplies. Then, we will personally be there in Liberia to oversee the receipt and distribution of these resources, as well as to engage in educational programs centred around the responsible and sustainable use of the donated items.
